Emily's the name. This is my journey through life as I live out my big dreams.
I have been a fashionista for as long as I remember. My mother always tells me stories of when I was younger. She would pick out my outfits and if I didn't like what she had chosen, I would choose my own outfit.
Now we've all had our awkward stages. I'd say mine was around fifth and sixth grade. This was also the time I met one of my best friends. She had really amazing hair. Whereas mine was always frizzy and unmanageable, hers was always perfectly soft and shiny. I'll admit, some of my clothing choices were inspired by her - we had the same pair of shoes in sixth grade. But she never minded. That's what friends are for, right?!
I have always loved shopping and my real passion for fashion evolved after watching my first episode of TLC's What Not to Wear. That's when the magic began. Watching Stacy and Clinton transform unfashionable people into better versions of themselves astounded and inspired me. I was pulled into a whirlwind of style and clothing. From then on, I began experimenting with my own clothing, style, and trends.
Now I've learned how to manage my hair, thanks to the numerous hair products my uncle always teases me about, and some very handy styling tools. I shop like there's no tomorrow and never pay full price for anything (unless it's from Forever 21). I have fashion magazines coming out the wazoo -- Seventeen, Glamour, Elle, Vogue.
When I first decided to create this blog, I was going to keep my focus on fashion. But in this fast-paced world, I realized young women need to be more than fashionable. They need to be cultured. I love books, music, movies, long walks on the beach, and so much more. So this is a place for us ladies to come together and talk about whatever interests us. Share your thoughts, opinions, and culture. My home is your home.
Keep Dreaming, My Little Darlings.
